Discipleship Ministry

Discipleship Ministry

"And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, 'All Power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you unto the end of the world.' Amen."

UNDER CONSTRUCTION!

The Discipleship Ministry, as is this web page, is "under construction." A Discipleship Ministry Planning Team has been formed to consider the development of a more intentional discipleship vision, mission and strategy with the goal of providing a clearer overall focus and process toward individual and corporate spiritual development. All of this is being done under the visioning and guidance of Pastor Bill.

It is envisioned that congregational ministries and missions will be focused on discipleship and spiritual practices that can help people of all faith stages grow deeper in their love of God and neighbor. It has been said that understanding discipleship as a process of growth - a continuous journey and a lifelong pursuit - can be a daunting task for some. Congregations are made up of people who are on this journey together but are at different levels of faith, and ours is no exception.

Disciple-making congregations know best how to utilize every member and talent of the existing congregation to fulfill the call of the Great Commission. - that's part of Intentional Discipleship, The Methodist Way. Intentional Discipleship does not just simply happen because a church exists. It occurs when there is an intentional and strategic thrust to facilitate spiritual maturity.

The Discipleship Ministry Planning Team is seeking to put in place a structure and common understanding which will transform our congregation's journey through a clear step-by-step process, helping us reach for the future without discarding our roots.

We hope you will join us on the greatest adventure of all - that of knowing, loving and serving God. There is nothing in the entire world that will bring you greater joy, greater challenge and greater meaning than the journey into life as God intended us to live it.
