“Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, serving as overseers-not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be.” – 1 Peter 5:2 (NIV)
We offer ongoing care and support to all members and friends of our congregation. We respond to individuals in times of crisis such as illness or bereavement. We keep in touch with members who are homebound or who now live in seniors’ residences and can no longer come out to church. We gather together for socials and meals together. Our ministry personnel and staff as well as our volunteers who serve want to make First United Methodist Church of Spring Hill a caring community where each person is able to feel the love of God being shared with one another.

- Matthew 28:19 (NIV)
Through Christian nurture and development, each one of us grows in our knowledge of what it means to be the people of God in our world and making disciples of Jesus Christ. We provide education for children and youth, Sunday School classes for all ages, and provide a nursery and childcare during worship and Sunday Schools as well as support mid-week activities and studies for children, youth, and adults.
Special adult studies and small groups happen throughout the year. In those gatherings, we seek to keep present the mystery of God’s presence in our lives as we explore, question, and talk together. There are special orientation sessions throughout the year for adults who want to become members, reaffirming their baptismal vows; for parents who want to have their children baptized, and for teenagers who want to re-affirm their baptismal vows for themselves at this time in their lives.
